How can I repair wooden bowl that I placed in the dishwasher?
I placed a few nice wooden bowls in the diswasher, now the nice shine is gone.
All good answers. Just to weigh in on the type of finish to use. Most finishing experts will tell you that once it is completely dry and cured, just about any clear film-type finish (such as lacquer or varnish) is "food-safe". There are specially formulated finishes for wood plates and bowls, however, and some people feel more comfortable using them. Just google "salad bowl finish" and you’ll find a few excellent products to choose from.
Using olive or walnut oil as a finish, as suggested above, is another common solution. If you go that route, you’ll need to sand off any remaining film finish first.
Either way, the first step in any finishing project is making sure the wood surface is clean, and it sounds like you have that taken care of.

The Maytag website does not list our model so we can get a manual. We know we have to take off the top, side3s, and wheels, but do we need a kit? Anyone have a manual?
