My Maytag Quiet Series 400 Dishwasher (model MDB7601AWB) has a broken handle. I am still able to open the door with some effort, but it feels almost like a spring has broken in the handle. I am able to find the replacement handle online, but I was hoping to find step-by-step instructions (preferably with diagrams). I have also tried to find a repair manual online with no luck.

Can anyone help?

the part for just the handle is worthless. the part number your looking for is W10130695…that is your handle in black, and to replace it here is step by step.

1.shut off power
2.open door down to fully open 90 degree postion
3. with a torx 16 head remove all screws around white plastic door there should be about 8
4.bracket laying across top of panel with green ground wire connected on right side, move to side out of way or remove by removing 1/4" nut drive screw
5.locate latch assembly
6.remove both black and white wires(L1 and Neutral) from switch terminals(new part should have them so dont freak if your break terminals they get stiff after awhile)
7. replace old latch assembly with new latch assembly in same way removed
8.button unit up as you disembled it and turn power back on.

and there you go youll be back up in no time, for further information if your wondering is it going to happen again the answer is shouldnt, the old design was platic pivot points the new design has a metal bar jammed threw the pivot points to prevent this from happening, good luck.

I have a hotpoint aquarius dishwasher on which the door won`t close properly. When I push the door in the dishwasher works but as soon as I let it go it stops.There is a little grey latch inside the door panel which connects to the metal latch on the main Dishwasher, I think this is the problem as I have notice that it moves into different positions, but I can`t get it to move into the one which holds the door properly!! I have looked on various fix-it sites but can`t see how to take the door panel at the top off to get at the switch.I loosened the screws on the door panel and looked for hidden screws as suggested but could not get the top panel off. I think it would be simple to repair if I could get to the switch!!
Can anyone help?

I Have seen the screws that hold the d/w to the cabinets come loose and affect the way the door closes. Look to see that nothing is holding racks in the wrong place. Make sure the door does not rub the cabinets when closing. Check all these out first many times a very simple problem not hard look for simple first!

Built in Dishwasher will not drain in the bottem of the tub.
I am going to check the hoses and Circut breaker now at my neighbors house. She does not have the internet so I will be back shortly.

The Dishwasher is draining into a bucket now. We believe the disopsal is blocked. What happens if we hit the reset button on the disposal? Does that do the same as the circut breaker?

before you do that, your drain line maybe connected to the garbage disposal. if so this is where your plug is. place a bucket under the disposal area. un-plug disposal elec cord. undo the hose clamp, then remove the drain. a little twisting back and forth may be needed. the disposal will have debrie in it. push through or drag it out with a screw driver. check the end of the hose also. I have started the washer and drained it into the bucket to mack sure that is clear. 1/2 hour job. hope this helps.
