Is it normal or signs of a problem if my built-in dishwasher makes a strange noise, when it is in use, and someone stands in front of it? The noise stops when you move away from it.
Thank you everybody (I think!) for your help. willy r you were tied with the one I voted as the best answer but went with the other person’s because of the add’l detail. Recently there had been a leak, so there being an issue with the floor makes perfect sense as to why there are problems in that area now. Maybe we need to check to see if the problem is still happening. Thank you be safe & go.

The floor will deflect slightly when someone walks across/stands on it. This is normal to a degree but if in excess then you should have it looked into. This slight change is probably making it sound different. I would pull out the dishwasher and check for a leak that might be making the floor weak. To do this simply remove 2 screws that is visible when you look under the edge of the counter-top right in front of the dishwasher. Then all you need to do is pull the Dishwasher out and look. There is extra hose behind it to allow it to be pulled forward at-least 2 ft. Revers these steps to reinstall.

Actually no, it’s not normal for it to make noises when someone stands in front of it, it usually doesn’t make any noise unless you stand behind it.

it happens this is because the floor gives when someone is on it causing the washer to shift a little making noise.

Pour in a half bottle of "Exorcism," should go away quick. Save the other half for the person standing in front of it.
