I just moved into a home with a Maytag Performa (PDB1600AWE) dishwasher & I can’t get it to start.Suggestions?
If its under warrantee call the service people and if its not and you don’t know any handymen call a good reputable service company as it could be a anything causing your problem.

. Make sure the circuit breaker hasn’t tripped. go to the maytag website and download the manual for the dishwasher the instructions for starting should be in there.

Sometimes installers put a water cut off valve under the sink that feeds water to the dishwasher. It may have gotten cut off to prevent a leak while the house was empty. Also, alot of dishwashers now are wired into a light switch on the wall above the counter for it’s power supply. Jamey (C & C Appliance Center)

As other answers stated make sure you have power and a water supply then pour a gallon or so of water into the bottom of the washer to prime the pump. Then close, lock and turn it on.
